Had a friend from childhood days (elementary thru HS) who got himself…
Set up pretty well as a local insurance agent in Charleston in the 80s. All the claims from Hugo bankrupted his dreams and completely altered his life path.
Hopefully nothing like that happens again there….

Special Inspections for Building Structures are typically performed
by a Special Inspections company specializing in that type of work, that is hired either by the Owner directly or as a sub to the design engineer if the Owner wants to deflect risk and the required on site coordination headaches.
Special inspection requirements were originally adopted into the IBC primarily in response to a parking garage collapse in Fairfax VA.
It doesn’t sound like the SIER was contracted to the design engineer in this case, and as it is in NYC who knows how this process is carried out there.

Favorite Annual Treat
Ripe summer peaches with raw honey and cinnamon on Breyers Vanilla Bean ice cream. An old tree picker passed it along with a wink over 30 years ago and I haven’t missed a summer season since.

I’ve caught them with healed over triangular snapper bite chunk wounds…
Holes punched through them by blue herons, and with otter bites ripped off their back. The folks that think catch and release hook needle wounds are cruel make me chuckle.

This fish was spent until it wasn’t…
Pitched a spontaneous shaking fit after I had it lipped for a good bit that continued after it was hanging from my hand by the hook - that’s why the “hole” is a gash instead of just a pure puncture.

Doesn’t happen often but sometimes the fish wins…
I always keep some needle nose pliers and mini bottles (“for disinfectant purposes”) in the tackle bag. After I’ve pulled the hook out I administer a dose or two of disinfectant internally, wipe the wound off with my shirt, and return to the business at hand.

I have to continuously log in on my IPhone most of the time
And it’s the only platform I use. If I log in with my email address it never sticks, but if I log in with user name it sometimes holds for a few hours. Picture uploads still hit and miss.
